HELP BRAVE TESSA FIGHT NEUROBLASTOMA

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Supporters,

In the blink of an eye, the world of 4-year-old Tessa and her family – Renee, Darren, and Remy – was turned upside down just two weeks ago. Tessa, a bright, brave, sassy, and strong little girl, has been diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer known as Neuroblastoma. Although the Stage system for this Cancer isn’t used anymore, unfortunately, the cancer is already equivalent to Stage 4. In just over two week’s Tessa’s journey has already been filled with scans, chemo, needles, tests, blood transfusion and the challenges of navigating a frightening and unfamiliar world.

Tessa’s Story:

Tessa's journey began with seemingly innocent symptoms – a sore belly and leg pains. Further investigation revealed a malignant mass between Tessa’s stomach and spine, leaving her family in shock. With further investigation, devastatingly the cancer was found to have already spread to other areas in Tessa’s little body. Tessa has already completed her first round of chemotherapy, a rollercoaster of emotions that she and her family are bravely facing. Despite the challenges, Tessa's spirit remains unbroken.

The Current Challenge:

As Tessa battles through her treatment, social workers are working hard to secure accommodation in Brisbane which is a couple of hours drive from home, allowing Tessa and her mum, Renee, to stay close to the hospital during this critical time. Darren continues to work, striving to maintain normalcy for Tessa's older brother, 7-year-old Remy. Unfortunately, Tessa was rushed back to the hospital recently, requiring a blood transfusion and antibiotics. A second round of chemo is on the horizon before doctors can consider removing the mass.

We are creating this GoFundMe page to support Tessa, Renee, Darren, and Remy during this brave fight. Renee had to leave her job to be by Tessa's side in Brisbane, and the family is facing additional financial stress due to the need for accommodation in Brisbane, travel back and forth from the Sunshine coast and medical expenses.
