Help Breanna's Family to UCLA for her Open Heart Surgery
Donation protected
My name is Breanna and I am 36 years old and I was born with a congenital heart disease. I had my first open heart surgery when I was 9 years old.
Over the years I have had many more heart procedures including valve replacements and pacemakers. I've always been really hard working I've always strived to be healthy and to have fun and live my life as fully as I can.
This November my husband Bradley and I will be married for 18 years. We have two sons Wyatt who is 13 and Henry who is 10.
My husband has been my biggest supporter. He has been there for every procedure and has always been there to help me in any way.
This last year and a half has probably been the hardest for our family. My husband Bradley was in a bad accident in April 2023 and was put off work in October of 2023. In January he had two cervical disk replaced in his neck and had a long recovery after that.
Meanwhile I had an echo heart ultrasound in June of 2023 that showed my pulmonary valve that was replaced in 2011 was starting to fail. I started to become symptomatic and by December as my husband was also off work I had to have my pulmonary valve replaced trans-catheter. I now was off 4 weeks from work while my husband was also off. When I returned to work two days later I needed an emergency surgery for a cyst that ruptured on my ovary that caused a blood clot. I ended up being off another 4 weeks.
In December after my pulmonary valve was replaced we noticed some changes in my aortic valve that was replaced via trans-catheter in 2019.
I was looking forward to starting to feel better after that pulmonary valve replacement and getting back to my active healthy self.
Although with the changes seen in my Aortic valve my cardiologist decided to monitor me closely and see me every three months.
During this time after I returned to work in Feb I was working and working overtime as my husband was still off work and was recovering from his two cervical disk replacements in his neck that was done in January 2024.
In March when I had my follow up with the cardiologist and another heart ultrasound was performed it was confirmed that that valve was deteriorating quickly. My cardiologist informed me that will probably have to have that Aortic valve replaced soon if the pressure's continue to increase.
During this time even working full-time plus overtime I was very symptomatic extremely exhausted shortness of breath but I continue to push thru for my family.
My husband fully recovered and was able to return back to work at the end of May.
At the beginning of June he was in another car accident and thankfully he is physically well he unfortunately totaled his commuting car. That was an unexpected expense on top of all these doctor's appointments and him barely getting back to work.
At the end of June I had another echo for my heart and it showed that my valve has progressed and is severely stenotic and I was consulted for open heart surgery to replace the valve.
This will be my Third open heart surgery and I was told that I am considered higher risk due to the fact that my anatomy has changed after my second open heart surgery there is now a coronary artery behind my sternum that could possibly be damaged when entering my chest and puts me at risk for many different complications.
I am trying to raise the funds to help my husband and boys to be able to stay near the hospital at UCLA as I'm scheduled for surgery August 9th and with everything that has happened we have no additional funds. I'm trying to raise the funds so they can stay nearby, gas, and food.
As I am high risk and there is a potential for complications and us living so far away (2.5 to 4 hrs away from home depending on traffic) I'm trying to raise the funds to relive some of the stress off my husband and children during this extremely difficult and stressful time.
If you are able to donate to my family I deeply appreciate it. If you are unable can you please share with your friends and family to help my family out in need.
Thank you all so very much
