We hope to raise this money for one of the most amazing person youll ever me, my best friend Brianna St John who last year was diagnosed with Cervical Intra-epithelial Neoplasia 3 (CIN 3) which are severely abnormal cells that are found on the surface of the cervix. If this was not treated, these abnormal cells may spread to nearby normal tissue. This first surgery specialists appointments cost upwards of $2000.
Brianna has had complications since this surgery in July last year and has been told that she needs to again have urgent surgery on the 26/3/20. She was told the public health system is not an option at this time due to the urgency of the procedures she must undergo. The procedures include a LLETZ, Dilation and Curettage (D&C), Hysteroscopy and a Polypectomy.
Brianna has half of the costs saved although costs of this surgery is $5000. This doesn’t include GP or specialist appointments before and after surgery that will take place.
Brianna works in the health industry as a Registered Nurse but has had minimal opportunity to continue stable employment over the last 8 months due to medical issues. She has been working just to save to cover the medical expenses that she must undergo every 6 months for the next 5 years.
Anyone who knows Brianna would understand that asking for help is is a last resort as she enjoys working for what she wants in life. She is hardworking, giving and passionate about her current studies to become a doctor upon graduation in 2023.
I feel it is only right to give back for Brianna’s services in health and as her friend. We know she will make a massive contribution in the near future. She will help with better health outcomes for all people and other women who are undiagnosed that are going through similar experiences and treatment.
