HELP BRENDAN CASSIDY GET HIS KIDNEY TRANSPLANT

Brendan Cassidy needs your help!

This amazing young man Brendan is now racing the clock to get a lifesaving Kidney transplant, and any money raised will go towards his ongoing medical costs.

Brendan who loves his Soccer & Rugby and just lives for his family & friends is always putting their needs before his own, so I am hoping we can all unite together to help Brendan get back fit & healthy again.

On September 21st last year at the young age of 24, Brendan Cassidy was diagnosed with a very rare form of kidney disease known as Good Pastures Syndrome. Before receiving this diagnosis, Brendan was healthy, active and excitedly making plans for his future. Good Pastures Syndrome is extremely rare with only 1 in 20 million people being diagnosed. The disease can affect the kidneys and the lungs and seemingly comes out of nowhere.

Good Pastures has left Brendan with total kidney failure which can only be curable with a kidney transplant. Brendan now relies on dialysis 3 x weekly at Gosford Hospital and various potent medications. While Brendan has a great medical team behind him, this journey has not been without many complications and trials which leave Brendan feeling extremely unwell and exhausted. The medication, regular dialysis and other procedures have meant that Brendan hasn’t been well enough to work since February 2022 and the costs are rapidly mounting up. Brendan is trying his best to remain in good spirits which is a huge testament to him through this extremely difficult time.

A kidney transplant will be the next phase of this journey to get Brendan healthy again. It is hoped that Brendan’s father Grant will be able to donate a kidney. Both Brendan and Grant are a blood match, however there will be much more extensive testing to find out if this is a viable option. Our fingers are firmly crossed that the transplant will happen in as little as three months so Brendan can get back doing what he loves best with his family & friends.
