Help Brett get a mindDog Assistance Dog
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Brett Smith & I am 62 years of age. I have multiple disabilities which resulted from a work accident leaving me with permanent nerve damage, chronic pain, and the inability to walk. I have been in and out of hospital for many years and was unable to return to my family home.
This has affected my mental health which is debilitating most of the time. This includes severe anxiety and depression which affect my ability to have a good life. It has also affected my relationship with my family & friends. I now live on my own in a Specialist Disability Accommodation apartment in Wollongong with 24/7 care from Disability Support Workers.
I am looking to raise funds for me to purchase and train an Assistance mindDog which will greatly help me with my mental health and overall quality of life. As you can appreciate I don't have the funds to do this on my own given I am receiving the Disability Support person funding which pays for my medication, food, and rent. I have very little left over to save the money to purchase and train a mindDog.
I would greatly appreciate the support from you all in my endeavors to have a mindDog who will provide me with assistance in daily living along with living with companionship.
Below is the link to the mindDog website which will give you more information about how the program and its benefits will have for me.
Sincerely,
Brett Smith
