Help Briahna beat cancer

With a heavy heart I write this message to share what has been happening with my niece over the past few months. The past couple months have been incredibly difficult for my family as my 11 year old niece Briahna (BiBi) has been in and out of the hospital. What started as her complaining of face numbness and headaches quickly turned into something much more. An emergency MRI made us aware that she has a brain tumor which has started to spread down her spine. After being transferred to CHOP for a biopsy we found out this past week that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. The type of cancer she has is a very rare form of cancer called AT/RT. We’ve been informed that it’s so rare that they themselves have little research or studies for it. Her symptoms have been progressing quickly but the amazing doctors at CHOP have been communicating with outside resources to ensure our precious BiBi is receiving the best care possible. We are incredibly thankful for the amount of support we have received at this time and we remain hopeful for a full recovery. BiBi herself is in great spirits and has asked us “what’s our plans for the summer?” Knowing full well her 12th birthday is only a few weeks away, she plans to enjoy every second of it.

After multiple surgeries to try and release some pressure from her brain to relieve some of her symptoms, she is set to start chemo this week. Doctors are acting quickly and as aggressive as possible. I’ve created this page to help support her family as much as possible. Any dollar donated will help BiBi’s parents with financial support while taking time off of work to care for her and get a jump start on some of the impending bills from chemo that insurance will not cover.
