Help Brian receive a kidney transplant!
Hi family and friends,
My name is Brian Heuett , I am raising funds for a kidney transplant and to help pay for medical expenses.
I have been having health problems with my type two diabetes for a few years, in December of 2020, I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), kidney failure. In mid-December I had surgery to place a Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) catheter in my abdomen. After three weeks of healing I began dialysis at home on a daily schedule. At the end of February 2021, I developed a hernia from the dialysis and had to have surgery to repair the hernia. I continued with dialysis at home but eventually the PD catheter quit working properly because of the hernia surgery.
At that point I had another surgery to fix the PD catheter to help me continue with home dialysis. In the meantime, I had a Hemo-dialysis catheter placed in my chest so I could continue getting treated with dialysis until my PD catheter healed properly. Later in May the Hemo-catheter was removed and I continued with PD dialysis at home, successfully thus far.
I have been in and out of the emergency room for various reasons. Mostly dealing with keeping my important bodily vitals healthy when they are out of sync because of my failed kidneys.
Furthermore, I have had several test and medical appointments to meet the Kidney transplant team's requirements for a kidney transplant. EKG's, PET scan, kidney biopsy, ECO test, CT scan, colonoscopy, dental appointment, angiogram, to mention some of the requirements.
At this point, I am in need of financial help and funds to help pay off medical bills that have accrued. The sooner I can raise the funds the sooner I can pay my medical bills and be prepared to pay medical expenses coming in the near future.
These funds will help me and my family financially to pay for the daily dialysis I receive and the supplies that I use on a daily basis, medical expenses, (e.g. hospital admission, kidney transplant, physicians, surgeon, anesthesiologists), pre and post medications, hospital stay 4-5 days, hotel cost for 4-6 weeks after the kidney transplant, lost wages for the last year, and lost wages for my wife during the 4-6 weeks as my caregiver, while I recover from the kidney transplant in Murray, Utah. In addition, I will have expensive monthly medicine expenses to make sure my body does not reject the kidney that will be transplanted. There will be food and travel costs in addition. These are only a few examples of what the total costs will be in the end.
For those who are willing to donate to my cause, this is an urgent situation. A kidney transplant is the sixth most expensive surgery in the United States. I have an excellent kidney team working hard for me and preparing to perform the kidney transplant as soon as we can. Having funds in place will be a great sense of relieve, to all of those involved.
I would like to share a favorite quote of mine: "What do we live for, If not to make the world less difficult for each other." George Eliot
I am looking forward to living a healthy and long life after my kidney transplant. I look ahead to going back to work, attending my Church services, visiting my children and grand-children, and spending productive time with some of my hobbies. Most of all spending valuable time with my wife without being sick everyday.
Sincerely and with much appreciation!
Brian
