Help Brian with his fight against Stage IV cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brian Mita and I was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer in June 2019. Because my cancer has the super aggressive BRAF mutation, it metastasized in June 2020 to stage IV where it spread to my liver, my pancreas and in my abdominal wall. I was very lucky to receive a state of the art medication in March 2021, specifically designed to hold my BRAF mutated cancer at bay, and gave me six months to spend with friends and family. Now they have me on a shorter term option that should last until the end of the year, and I have another option after that. Beyond that, I’m hoping for another miracle, and if not that, I hope to help anyone facing what I am facing as much as I can. Staying positive, no matter the odds, is essential.
This new chemotherapy is, however, very hard on my body, and I am not able to work like with the other treatments I have undertaken. I am asking for your support to help me with bills and ostomy supplies while I undergo these treatments. I am on Medicaid for my treatments and on unemployment to help, but I could use more support. I would be very grateful for any help you may kind enough to lend.
Last year I helped the American Cancer Society raise nearly half a million dollars through their Taste of Hope campaign, and I hope this year, we can raise more and bring awareness that Colon cancer will soon be one of the leading causes of death in men between the ages of 20-40. I hope to pay it forward and fundraise so we all can have better outcomes.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
