Help Brianna Get a New Kidney

First thing- thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Second thing- I am writing this because Brianna is one of my best and longest friends. I could not imagine my life without her, and she is one of the best people I know.

Brianna was born with partial sacral agenisis, without a part of her tailbone, smaller kidneys, and a mild form of spina bifida. Because of this, she has had constant medical issues. It is not a curable condition, it can only be treated. Brianna is required to be on dialysis for hours a day. Dialysis is only a temporary fix with many side effects. At the young age of 15, she started dialysis. In 2010, she was lucky enough to receive a kidney. Her first transplant was successful, and Brianna was able to graduate high school, college, graduate school, and begin her career as a therapist.

However, in 2020, she received news that her kidney had failed. Since 2020, she has been back on dialysis, attempting to juggle her life, all while searching a living donor. On top of kidney failure, Brianna has had several surgeries within the last 18 months related to fixing complications from medical malpractice that has significantly deteriorated her health.

She also has a PRA of 99. That means she will not match for 99% of donors. It is going to be difficult to find her a kidney donor, but we are staying positive. She’s starting antibody treatments at the Mayo Clinic to hopefully bring this down, which also costs more money.

On top of these surgeries, she also still needs a kidney transplant from a living donor.

I am currently fundraising for Brianna’s transportation, parking bills at the hospital, lodging for her mother, food, and medical bills.
