As some of you may know, Shannon Sawyer endured a horrific dog bite injury that took off her entire upper lip and a section of her cheek Monday, January 3rd 2022. She didn't exactly start the year off with the best "New year, new you" statement. She was admitted into McKee Hospital that night and was immediately taken to Anschutz Emergency plastic surgery unit in an ambulance. They performed the best emergency re-attachment surgery that they could. Some of the tissue has taken, but the rest will need to be replaced because it is necrotic (dead). What this means is that she will need one or more surgical procedures to regain full functionality. Later down the road, we are hoping to get her cosmetic surgery to bring back the smile we once knew before her accident. Typically, cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. Only medical surgery is necessarily covered for functionality purposes. Please help Shannon bring back her smile as well as help her with lost wages and medical bills during this difficult time. Every little bit helps and is much appreciated! Thank you all so much! Blessings to you all and please pray for her healthy healing and recovery!
