Help bring banked track roller derby to Colorado!
Donation protected
My name is Randi Reckless and my dream is to start a banked track roller derby league in Colorado! I have been playing roller derby for over a decade and was inspired by my time skating for Texas Roller Derby in Austin to start an open gender banked track league here in the Denver area where I currently live.
The pandemic hit the roller derby community hard and many leagues shut down permanently. There are currently a few privately owned banked tracks for sale and I am raising the money to purchase one of them. These banked tracks have a long history and it would be an immense loss if they were not able to be re-homed and used again. My partner and I recently purchased property where we can set up a banked track so now all I need is the track! While I have been working to raise funds to purchase a banked track on my own it has been slow-going. I was encouraged by friends and family to reach out to the roller derby and skating communities, as well as potential future fans of this banked league, for help. This is where you come in: I am asking for donations to purchase a used banked track from some lovely folks who have been storing one for the past few years at a substantial cost to themselves.
In exchange for those willing to donate now, I would love to repay everyone for their contribution after we have acquired the track and set up the league. When you make a donation, please write in the comment section what you would like: a league shirt? Stickers? Enamel pins? Free tickets to future bouts? Something else?
Even if we only get halfway to our fundraising goal that would still be a huge help and very much appreciated. Thank you for reading this and I appreciate your support!
