This is Boots. He was once a stray, with no food or clean water, until my sister found him and gave him a second chance at life. From the moment she brought him home, he became family.

Yesterday Boots was hit by a car. It was a nightmare. Both of his back legs are now severely injured, and he’s facing a long road to recovery that will likely include surgery and specialized care. The good news is, he made it through the worst of it — but the reality is, he can’t come home yet.

The total cost of his emergency care is around $10,000. My sister has already put together as much as she can — everything she could possibly manage — but she still needs about $1,700 to bring Boots home and continue the care he needs to survive.
