Help bring Brie Duval back home from Canada

After a freak accident, Brie Duval is currently in Edmonton hospital, having sustained life-threatening injuries.

Brie suffered a bleed on her brain and was put on life support, as she was unable to breathe on her own. She has a fractured T9 and fractured ribs and broken teeth and weakened left side of her body.

Medical staff performed another CT scan and found a second bleed and a large contusion on her brain, it is unknown how much brain damage she has sustained at the moment.

Both bleeds are inoperable.

Brie was only given a 10% chance of survival, but she is such a little fighter, after three days, she is now off life support and breathing on her own.

One doctor who saw her the night she was flown to hospital was back in ICU a few days later and couldn’t believe she was off life support and breathing on her own. We are sure she probably heard the doctor say she wouldn’t make it and anyone that knows Brie knows she would do anything to prove them wrong!

She is still in Neuro ICU, is responsive and talking a little. She is trying to feed herself but needs thickened fluids as she chokes on normal fluid. At this stage it looks like she will be recovering in hospital for 2 to 3 months, including rehab.

Family and friends have set up this GFM page to raise funds to cover her medical and rehabilitation costs, and so her Dad, Brad can go to Canada to be with her, help her through rehab and eventually bring her back home to Australia.
