Hello!

My name is Marlet Caraveo and I started this fundraiser for my niece Brinalee Garcia, and Brina's Fiancé, Cade Mendoza.

On Tuesday January 11th, Brina and Cade suffered a horrific accident while our family was on a family vacation in Puerto Vallarta. While laying on a hammock on a private island about 40 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, the hammock snapped and a 12 ft tree trunk fell on top of Brina and Cade.

The impact hit Brina on the top of her head resulting in Brina suffering severe head trauma from the impact, with a large wound causing swelling in her brain, a severe concussion, a spinal fracture, and damage to her teeth Cade was injured on his head and his back, and while dealing with his own injuries, rushed Brina to the nearest hospital.

The first 12 hours after the accident, Brina had no memory of what had happened, and she kept repeating herself every 20-30 seconds. Once they closed her head wound she started to slowly get her memory back. Her parents and grandparents were able to fly back to Puerto Vallarta, where they will stay for the next few weeks to get Brina in stable enough condition to fly her back to the United States.

We've been in contact with the US embassy for assistance on how we can safely get her back to the United States and get her continued medical care. We're asking for help from our community to help bring Brina back home safely as we are still in Puerto Vallarta, while also insuring she gets the proper care as she will most likely be out of work for the next few months.

Funds donated will go towards medical expenses in the US and Puerto Vallarta, hotel costs in Puerto Vallarta, food, flights to return to the US, dental procedures, follow up appointments and living expenses while Brina and Cade get back on their feet for the next few months.
