Help Bring Byron “Gene” Jones Home – Support the Search Efforts
We urgently need your help.
Byron “Gene” Jones, an 85-year-old husband, father, and beloved member of our community, has been missing since Monday night. Gene, who suffers from cognitive impairment due to dementia, left his home in Canton, GA, driving his wife’s dark blue Toyota Camry.
He was last seen in Jasper, GA between 7:40 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on
Monday, April 21, 2025.
Gene is the father of Pastor Craig Jones of Abiding Church in Woodstock, Ga.
Since his disappearance, Pastor Craig—along with His Brothers, their Families, friends, church members, and countless volunteers—have been searching day and night to bring Gene home safely.
The search now spans North Georgia and parts of Tennessee and North Carolina, with the search growing more urgent each day due to Gene's medical Condition.
Many people have asked how they can help. In response, this GoFundMe has been created to support both the active search and the family’s ongoing needs during this incredibly difficult time.
Your donation will go toward:
Search-related expenses (fuel, travel, flyers, meals, printing, etc.)
Volunteer support (food, logistics, coordination)
Financial relief for the Jones family as they pause work to focus on the search.
Assistance with any expenses once Gene is found (medical care, travel, vehicle, or recovery-related costs)
If you’re unable to give financially, please continue to share this page and keep Gene and the Jones family in your prayers.
Every share, every dollar, and every moment of awareness and Prayer brings us closer to finding him.
We’re believing for Gene’s safe return. Thank you for standing with us.
