Help bring clean water to a school in Kenya

Donation protected
My name is Barbara Deloney Lewis. My friends, Lisa Parrish Gowan and Karen Dawson, and I are raising money for Baby Star School in Migori, Kenya. Baby Star was begun by Teacher Jane Okode in 2009 with 10 students and 3 staff members. Today the school educates 320 students and has 15 staff members. We have known Jane and her family for many years, having met them while each of us were on mission trips to Kenya.

Life and learning are difficult in Kenya. Some of the biggest challenges can be lack of water and electricity. Needs ranging from not enough food to eat to lack of sanitary pads for young women and girls impedes learning and forces frequent absence and high drop out rates. Please take a moment to watch this brief video and listen to Teacher Jane tell about her mission to educate and the challenges to that mission.

Money raised here will be used first to drill a well at the school so the children and staff will have access to clean water. The amount needed for that is approximately $16,000. Any funds raised over that amount will be used for food, school supplies, sanitary pads, etc. You can help by making a donation, sharing this fundraiser with friends and family, and by praying for Jane and her students. Thank you for your generosity and may God bless you in your giving!
