Help Bring Computers to Mgeta Secondary School

I am Trisha, a Cornell University student who is going to Tanzania to do research with collaborators at the Sokoine University of Agriculture.

I am working with my host and fellow researcher, Mr. Salum Kulunge, to raise funds on behalf of the Khalifa Foundation for the Mgeta Secondary School in Mvomero, Morogoro, Tanzania. Salum is the founder of the Khalifa Salum Kulunge Foundation (KSKF), a non-governmental organization named after the late Khalifa Salum Kulunge, a student who had a great passion for education and improved community health. The organization works to support communities in the education, health and economic sectors through various programs while also advocating the proper management of natural resources for sustainable development.

The Khalifa Foundation is currently aiming to acquire 20 computers for the computer science program at Mgeta Secondary School. Despite having an adequate number of computer science teachers, the school currently lacks computers, which has hindered the teaching of this subject. Each computer is estimated to cost 200 USD, and the goal is to complete this project by the end of June 2024. We invite you to contribute to enable the students at Mgeta Secondary School to have better access to technology education. If you choose not to remain anonymous, your name will be included among those who donated to establish the computer lab when it is inaugurated.

Unfortunately, GoFundMe does not have a partnership in Tanzania, and the donation page on the Khalifa Foundation's website is not working. For this reason, I (Trisha) will be doing a direct transfer of all funds in cash to the foundation when I travel to Tanzania this June and July. By July 5th at the latest, I will provide proof to all donors that all donations have gone directly to KSKF.
