Help Bring Eleven Fifty-Eight to Life
Donation protected
Eleven-Fifty-Eight is a deeply personal and emotionally poignant short film about grief, memory, and the struggle to move forward. Written and produced by Edwin Domachowski, directed by Jake Nichols, and with Chloe Cameron serving as the director of photography, the film explores the quiet weight of turning 20 through the eyes of Emery, a young woman on the cusp of adulthood. This milestone brings her face-to-face with the grief of losing her mother, who was the same age when Emery was born.
Returning home for her birthday, Emery clings to childhood traditions and fading memories, afraid that moving forward means leaving her mother behind. Through intimate, reflective moments, Eleven-Fifty-Eight delves into the subtle complexities of loss, the way time reshapes grief, how nostalgia can feel both comforting and suffocating, and the realization that life is not meant to be relieved, but embraced. It is a tender exploration of growing up, where change is inevitable, but love remains.
Our Team & Past Work
This project marks the third collaboration between our team. In August 2024, we released Technical, written and directed by Jake Nichols, produced by Edwin Domachowski, and featuring Chloe Cameron as Director of Photography and Editor. In December 2024, we released Suitcase of Memories, written and directed by Edwin Domachowski, with cinematography by Chloe Cameron and editing by Jake Nichols. Eleven-Fifty-Eight builds upon the creative synergy we've cultivated in our previous work and continues to reflect our shared passion for telling impactful stories.

Director’s Statement
There are moments in life when we find ourselves standing at the edge of the unknown—whether it feels like stepping into an uncharted wilderness or off a cliff into an endless void. Ed’s script, and the character of Emery, capture this unsettling limbo between the familiar and the uncertain in a deeply compelling way. How does one move forward when the future rushes toward them while the past slips away like sand through their fingers—especially when a vital piece of that past is already missing?
As I approach the end of my senior year and prepare to leave the structured world of academia, Emery’s quiet struggle against the future resonates with me on a personal level and informs my approach to the world ahead of me. In directing this film, I aim to bring her internal world to life—to make the empty spaces in her mind tangible and transform the familiar into something eerily alien. Yet, within that uncertainty, there is also possibility. In exploring Emery’s journey, I hope to illuminate the opportunities that lie within the void—and, in turn, let my own uncertainties inform her character as well.
