S. Evan Scoggins life ended trying to help his mother. 143-8

This loss is immeasurable and we are still struggling to come to terms with this devastating news. On October 11, 2024, both S. Evan Scoggins and his beloved mother were gunned down by Evan’s stepfather. Both Evan and his mother were killed by the same person, someone in the home they should have been able to trust. In truth, their killer was never trusted, and he has robbed the world of our dear Evan, and also an entire extended family of people from the Outer Banks, but also from those that know his dad and relatives from all over the world. Evan wanted to make films and was whip smart and incredibly compassionate.

From one of Evan's dear friends, the day he was killed, "He bought me a poetry book and we went out for drinks before he took me home that day. Your son was the most thoughtful and one of the most outgoing and understanding people I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting, justice will be had."

To honor Evan's memory and support the family during this difficult time, this GoFundMe campaign was created to assist with various expenses, including legal and administrative services and other associated cost from his untimely death, murdered at age 20 in Las Vegas trying to protect his mother.

Evan was a bright, brilliant and caring young man. Evan in his last moments ran into the home when he heard gunshots from the garage. Evan did not hesitate and was so willing to help his dear mother Anastasia, that he ran INTO the house where he knew he heard the shots come from. This shows us all what a kind young man he was, and the amazing father and young dreamer he was growing into and the values we and his father Andy instilled in him on the Outer Banks.
Thank you for your love, support and generosity. Please help bring Evan home in peace, back to the Outer Banks. So many that knew his smile and his warmth never imagined his life would end before we saw him in all the great ways he could have effected positive change. Many unforseen expenses lie ahead for Evan's Carolina-OBX family, and any help is greatly appreciated. We thank you for it.
To show your support, please donate as much or as little as you can. It all helps with the expected expense they will meet in getting justice for Evan, but first, let's just get him back to a place he never wanted to move away from at all. Evan's entire Outer Banks family, you've seen or heard of this tragedy by now, so please make room in your hearts and donate if you can to make sure Evan is given the dignity of the small, necessary work of the skilled workers at Twifords. We should all be near and next to Andy's family during this grieving process, Evan most of all. Evan would want to be on the Outer Banks where we can all go visit, or when we go to visit someone else, we can see his name and know his memory lives on.
