Help bring Finn back to UK
Donation protected
On the 9th August 2023, the Webber family from UK were just beginning their holiday in Portugal (photo of the four siblings). They were on a dual carriageway, travelling in two cars when due to an accident ahead of them, they had to perform an emergency stop. This was when a large oil-tanker crashed into them. Six members of the family were badly hurt, including mum, dad, their teen and young-adult children, along with their friends.
Finn and Sam, the two brothers had to be cut out by firefighters and were both unconscious when taken to hospital. Finn (23, on the left) had surgery for a broken femur, dislocated hip and head trauma. He is still in a coma and his family are desperate to bring him back for recovery in the UK. The costs to fly him back in this condition are in the region of £40,000
Unfortunately, Finn did not have travel insurance and all costs have to be covered by the family.
Edit on the 19th August - Finn is starting to show signs of awareness and has opened his eyes several times. He followed instructions to squeeze Dad's hand. He is showing signs of recovery.
Sam (18) and his younger sister (15) are unable to walk and are learning to use crutches and wheelchairs, whilst recovering from broken bones. Mum Ali has nerve damage to her hands and cannot perform daily tasks, whilst having to look after the two injured children. She is also unable to work. They need their dad, who is by Finn's side, still in Portugal. The family need to be reunited and start healing at home.
I'm a family friend and am asking for help.
Any donations, of any size are very much appreciated and will go directly towards the costs of Finn's repatriation home.
