Solvers of X&Y exemplifies the spirit of FIRST, showcasing students who best represent its values. As a role model team, they serve as a vital bridge to the FIRST Robotics Competition, inspiring others to follow their path.
This year Solvers of X&Y created a bioplastic to address the pressing issues of plastic pollution its ties to the petroleum industry, Solvers of X&Y developed an innovative and sustainable alternative to petroleum-based plastics. Their solution—a bioplastic film crafted entirely from natural ingredients like brown seaweed—is 100% biodegradable. This durable, flexible, and heat-resistant material is versatile, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Committed to more than just innovation, the team actively works to integrate this technology into the real world, fostering a circular economy and driving public interest in sustainable solutions.
Bubbles is a community-based FRC team, Bubbles is dedicated to serving the youth in York Region while also reaching out to the entire GTA area. Based at the Aurora Business Park in York Region, Ontario, Bubbles will debut their rookie FRC season in 2025. The team currently consists of 16 students, with half transitioning from the graduated FLL team. Although we are a rookie FRC team, we are not new to FIRST. The founding members started an FLL team in 2019 with coach Dahai (a.k.a. Mr. π), and we have grown into four FLL teams over the past three years.
