Help bring historical comedies to the Edinburgh Fringe 2025

Hello there, my name is Beth and in 2024 I (among others) brought my first show to the Edinburgh Fringe called Regina Vagina, a comedy musical inspired by horrible histories that centred around the life and virginity of Elizabeth i. The show all in all was a success, gaining sell out performances and a cracking 5 star review.

After the success of last year it would be a real shame to leave the show behind when it still has so much left to give. I also however wish to continue to bring more new history based comedies so joining Regina Vagina will be a brand new historical comedy musical called Charles ii: Living Libido Loca. This one will of course centre around the Merry Monarch himself Charles ii and his famous libido.

The only issues I'm facing as a working class performer are monetary. To register both shows with the fringe costs around £600, add on top of that the price for rehearsal space, costumes, props and advertising. These are costs that are often covered by show revenue however we are performing as part of the PBH Free Fringe therefore are only able to rely on donations to cover costs.

Advertising is a big part of getting your show out there during the fringe, we relied upon leafleting and online free marketing only last year due to costs and although we did well, having the budget for official advertising would benefit us greatly.

The purpose of our shows is to make history fun again for adults. To provide a show that is not only historically researched but funny, and that appeals to the big kids amongst us, especially those like myself who grew up on Horrible Histories. Our shows are raunchy, halerious and for the most part factually correct. They tell history through: over the top characters, parodies of well known songs, physical theatre and wonderful performers.

Financing this alone is not an easy task and so we as for your support and donations. All money will go to the expenses of putting on the best shows we possibly can for you.
