Help Bring Jordy Home

Dear Friends

A little over a year ago, Jordan (‘Jordy’), Sacha and Ernest’s (Nzigamasabo), middle son, at age 16 was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, an aggressive childhood bone cancer. Jordy was a typical year 10, High School student, talented basketball player and loved online gaming with mates.

Over the past 12 months, Jordy has been in and out of hospital and endured multiple surgeries to remove the cancer from spreading, followed by many rounds of radiation and chemotherapy.

Devastatingly, Jordan’s cancer metastasized and the family were recently told the 3rd and last attempt at chemotherapy had not worked and no further conventional treatment could get rid of the cancer. He is now confined to a wheelchair and unable to walk as the cancer has spread to his spine.

Sacha, Ernest, Seb and Cecile and their close family, have dedicated themselves to being there for Jordy to providing him with all the love, comfort, and support they can. Jordan has been in hospital since November and their wish is to bring him home, to be with his family and pets.

Their home is not set up to be wheelchair accessible and NDIS funding is a lengthy process and not easy to get approved for palliative care patients.

Jordan’s illness has created considerable financial stress as neither Sasha or Ernest are able to work their regular hours. There are no savings left to make the changes to be able to bring Jordan home.

The family are very proud and private and do not ask or accept help readily, however, this is why we decided to set up this GoFundMe page to help the family meet any needs Jordy has and make it possible for them to bring him home from hospital so he can be with his family and pets, something he has asked for.

This is where we as a community of their friends feel we can step in and make a difference. Your donation, no matter the amount, will allow the family and Jordy the opportunity to not feel stress or worry about affording things that will make Jordy’s life as good as it can be.
