Help bring Jose Ferreira back to the US
Donation protected
Update for Wednesday, April 26, 2023 We are more than halfway to our goal of $3,100! All we need now is $1,500 more and my dear friend Jose Ferreira can get back to the US. All his Immigration documents are complete. He has a place to live with his brother in Pennsylvania and a job there with money in his bank account in Brooklyn which he could not access while outside of the US. When he arrives in the US, he can start sending money to his sister in the Dominican Republic to support his four grandchildren shown in the picture above. Please help us reach this goal by either donating, however small it may be and sharing with friends and family. We thank you from our Hearts for whatever you can do to help us!

Update for Saturday, April 22, 2023. Good News! Jose's Immigration Attorney has provided funds toward this fundraiser so we only need to raise $1,500 more for Jose to get back to the US! And, even better, his attorney in America was able to prevent the bank in Brooklyn from relinquishing Jose's account to the state of New York. This means all we need is $1,500 more and Jose can travel to Pennsylvania to start his new job there with his brother Tony, and start sending money to his sister in the Dominican Republic to support his four grandchildren. Please donate what you can and share this with friends and family so we can get Jose back to the US. We thank you all who have already donated and those who have shared with friends. Shares and Prayers are Greatly Appreciated! Thank you!!!

Hello. My name is Lisa and I am raising funds to help my dear friend Jose Ferreira travel from Dominican Republic (DR) to the United States. For the last 6 years, after Jose was deported to the DR for overstaying his visa (his deportation period was for 5 years), he has been taking care of his four grandchildren since his son died and has not been able to find work. Jose is a hard worker but lives in a very poor section of the DR where the economy has been depleted and work is almost non-existent. Consequently, I have been sending him money so they can eat and keep their utilities turned on. The picture above is Jose with his grandkids: Joscar, Joseph, Natasha and John.
Jose has a job waiting for him in Pennsylvania where his brother, Tony, lives and Jose can stay with his brother until he can get his own place. An attorney in the DR has prepared all the necessary re-entry paperwork for Jose to come back to America where he can work and apply for US Citizenship. The funds I am raising will pay for the attorney’s fees, the airfare to Pennsylvania, temporary living expenses and travel costs from Pennsylvania to Brooklyn New York where Jose has a bank account. I have spoken to Jose’s attorney friend in Brooklyn, Mike Miller, who told me the bank where Jose’s account is held is getting ready to relinquish the account to the State of New York due to inactivity for the last 6 years. The attorney has gotten the bank to agree to hold the funds until May 5th so Jose can get there to withdraw the funds before they are relinquished. The bank funds are enough for Jose to rent his own place in Pennsylvania and send money to his sister in the DR to take care of his grandchildren.
Realistically, Jose needs to be in the US by the third week of April to allow enough time to get situated in Pennsylvania with his new job, travel from Pennsylvania to Brooklyn and reach the bank before the May 5th deadline.
Any amount you can donate to this cause is Greatly Appreciated and will help my dear friend Jose reach his goal to be gainfully employed, become a US Citizen and take care of his four grandchildren. We thank you from our Hearts.
