Help bring my friend Jose Ferreira back to the US

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Lisa Van Poyck and I am raising funds to help my dear friend Jose Ferreira travel from Dominican Republic (DR) to the United States. For the last 8 years, after Jose was deported to the DR for overstaying his visa (his deportation period was then 7 years), he has been taking care of his four grandchildren since his son died and has not been able to find work. One of his granddaughters, Yobeira, has gone to live with one of her aunts so Jose now has three grandkids living with him, pictured above: Joseph, Natasha and Yoscar.

Jose is a hard worker but lives in a very poor section of the DR where the economy has been depleted and work is almost non-existent. Last year, his home was destroyed by fire after a neighbor's home exploded from a gas leak. Consequently, I sent him money to move to a new place and I have been sending him money each month so they can eat and keep their utilities turned on.

Jose has a job waiting for him in Pennsylvania where his brother, Tony lives. Jose can stay with his brother there until he can get his own place. An Immigration Attorney in the DR has prepared all the necessary re-entry paperwork for Jose to come back to America where he can work and apply for US Citizenship. Two months ago, they went to the Embassy in DR where an Ambassador looked at all the paperwork Jose has and said everything is in order. All he needs is a $7,500 mandatory Immigration Fee due to the US Embassy in DR for him to Immigrate to the US . The funds I am raising will pay for that Immigration Fee, airfare to New York City and temporary living expenses while there for a total of $8,000. Two friends of Jose in the US have donated a total of $2,000 so the remaining funds we are raising here is $6,000.

Jose has an account with a private holding company in New York City (NYC). I have spoken to the owner of the holding company and he told me Jose has a little over $68,000 on account with them. This was money Jose saved for over 20 years while he had a small grocery store in NYC. Since the time Jose was deported, I have tried, through Power of Attorney, to get those funds transferred to Jose in DR but the holding company owner told me they will only give the funds to Jose in person since several of his relatives and an attorney Jose doesn't even know have already tried to obtain those funds through forged Power of Attorney forms. Consequently, Jose needs to go to their New York City office in person to obtain his money.

Any amount you can donate to this cause is Greatly Appreciated and will help my dear friend Jose reach his goal to immigrate here, become gainfully employed, become a US Citizen and take care of his three grandchildren, eventually bringing them to the US to live with him. We thank you from our Hearts.
