“Journey “ A Soulful Music Celebration takes the audience on a moving voyage of the Black American experience through music and dance. It will spotlight genres spanning from the Negro spiritual to religious hymns to the modern sounds of Jazz, gospel and blues.
It will feature the African drum that will give the rhythmic beat that gave much of Black American music its lifeblood. Musical Direction by Mr. Vinroy D Brown; Choreography by award winning Obediah Wright.
The show will end with the celebration of the Black American church. Our faith has always been the bedrock of innovation, celebration and leadership.
The tour guide for this journey will be a Dynamic narrator The Rev. Dr. S Raschaad Hoggard, is a person of presence and strength. The cast is a star studded ensemble of world renown talent. Bass Baritone Marvin Lowe, Opera sensation Brandie Sutton, jazz great Wycliffe Gordon, and gospel singer C Anthony Bryant will be featured along with voices from Harlem.
There will also be a special tribute to honor James Baldwin.
The performance date is Friday, October 11, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Aaron Davis Hall in the Marian Anderson Theatre at The City College of New York. Ticket price is $40
