You never know where your creativity will lead you… Leuvis Olivero of Lawrence,MA USA lived an adventurous life and his thirst for knowledge, community and art lead him to Brazil; where he embraced the country’s history, politics, capoeira and most of all street art.
This adventure brought Lu, the biggest gift he could ever receive, his daughter ,Sophia. She is his whole world, and he would move mountains just to be with her. He loved teaching her about art and music , taking her to museums, reading stories to her, just being in the moment with her . There is nothing that he wouldn’t do just to put a smile on her face. Sophia is his world, and his legacy and wisdom will continue with her.
Lu was full of wisdom and passionate about life. Anyone who was lucky enough to have a conversation on any topic, would leave with some new knowledge weither you agreed or disagreed. With him, you knew you were going to receive an honest opinion because that’s the type of person he was .
Lu cared, about everyone. Acts of service and the pursuit of benevolence in humanity kept him motivated . This was instilled by his parents, Jacoba and Diogenes, His beloved sister, Cesarina and him had a sibling bond like no other, they knew when to keep it real but also supported each other . His girlfriend, Julia, was his partner in life they met through capoeira and would spend their time loving music, art and culture. His two nieces, Alexia and Aaria, brought so much joy to their uncle‘s life; months, days, hours to the minute would be counted until they would be together. Family ,friends and community , meant everything to Lu.
He was a proud man, a Go Fund Me Page is something he would not wish for but with the unexpected cost of flights, bureaucracy and arrangements between the two countries is necessary for his family to bring him back home soon as possible.
Lu was many things , an artist, a journalist , political analyst but most important he was someone’s father, son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend. Please share and help bring Lu home.
At the moment, there’s no official date for services (in the US) until we are able to bring him back. Please stay posted for additional information.
As we mourn our loss, please be mindful that everything is pending. Our focus is now to bring Lu home and celebrate his life .
