Help Auntie Mag (Margaret) Artero Get Home to Guam

After fighting so hard, our dear Auntie Mag (Margaret) Artero recently passed away. She was greatly comforted by the presence and aid of her only child, our cousin, Jesika Artero Taitano, as well as Jesika’s small family: husband Ian and children Keana, Lauryn, and Giovani.

Auntie Mag (Margaret) was fun-loving and always up for an adventure. She loved life, loved to travel, was strong and determined, and would always love a party. Throughout her career as a University of Guam Professor and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Guam Army National Guard, she touched so many lives. She was a role model and mentor to many.

It was Auntie Mag's (Margaret's) wish to be taken home to Guam from California to be buried near her parents at the Pigo Catholic Cemetery in Hagatña.

There will be a small funeral service for the family members stateside and then Jesika and family will fly Auntie Mag (Margaret) to Guam to honor her wishes and have a funeral and burial where everyone can say their last goodbyes.

This will come at great expense to the family with airfares at around $3,500 per person round-trip due to the time of year. Plus there will be funeral expenses, miscellaneous travel costs, and other expenses. It's important that Auntie Mag's (Margaret's) wishes be honored, and that Jesika and family are able to accompany her back to Guam.

It has been an incredibly difficult time for the family, with emotional, logistical, and financial challenges. It is with these financial challenges that we, as part of Auntie Mag’s (Margaret's) large circle of extended family and friends, hope to help.

Together, we can assist Jesika and her family with some of the financial burden associated with bringing her mom back to Guam and laying her to rest. Any amount you can gift will help, and we know Jesika and her family will be forever grateful. Please consider prayerfully whatever amount you can give.
