Help Bring Medical Supplies to Gentlecare Hospice in SA
Donation protected
Many of you know how close South Africa is to my heart—and this time, I’m reaching out to ask for your help in making something truly meaningful happen.
A full pallet of basic healthcare and hygiene essentials (300kg) has been generously donated and is currently waiting in Kitzbühel, Austria. These healthcare necessities are destined for Gentlecare Hospice, a small, community-run palliative care center in Britstown, South Africa—my family’s hometown.
Gentlecare is incredibly close to me, not only because of the work it does, but because it is owned & run by my wonderful parents and their dedicated, loving team. They provide essential end-of-life care to people in one of the country’s most underserved areas—people who often have nowhere else to turn. The hospice operates entirely on donations, and I’ve seen firsthand how far they stretch every single contribution.
This donation includes mobility aids, hygiene products, and basic medical tools—items that could dramatically improve the way they care for their patients.
OUR CHALLENGE
As we are flying the supplies over ourselves to ensure they arrive safely and directly at the hospice, I’ll be taking the first 7 suitcases, already packed with essential items in the next few days. The remaining bags will follow with a dear friend flying out in June, who has also generously volunteered to work at the hospice for several months.
Even with this hands-on approach, we still need to cover the cost of transporting the full 300kg pallet from Kitzbühel to Britstown—a journey that includes land and air freight to South Africa, followed by an 800km delivery from Cape Town to the remote hospice.
FUNDRAISING GOAL: €1,500
To make this possible, we’re now raising funds to cover the extra luggage costs for both flights, as well as the transport of the remaining supplies from Kitzbühel all the way to Gentlecare’s front door in Britstown.
This is not a commercial shipment. It’s a social donation that could make a huge difference in a place that truly needs it.
If you’d like to be part of this, here’s how:
- Contribute whatever you can toward the transport costs –> no amount is too small
- Share this with someone who might be able to assist
Every bit of support means so much to my parents, their amazing team, and the people they care for every single day since 2007.
