Help bring Open Streets back to Prospect Heights!

Tax deductible
Prospect Heights loves Open Streets on Vanderbilt Avenue . Three quarters of the residents responding to our community survey said they visited the avenue at least twice a month, and half come every weekend! And why not? With live music, dance, games, fitness and family fun, there is always something to do—to say nothing of the joy of meeting up with friends for happy hour on a Friday evening, or the excitement of dining under the stars on a summer night.

During the week, Underhill Plaza draws a crowd for yoga classes and chess matches. Kids love learning to skateboard with our talented instructors, and folks enjoy relaxing at tables outside as they watch the world go by.

These spaces are both a backyard and a community square we can all enjoy. They let everyone benefit from public space reclaimed from cars, and contribute to a more sustainable city for all of us. So we’re as excited about another year of Open Streets as you are—but we do need your help. All of the work that goes into opening the streets and presenting the programming you love costs money. Because pandemic-era funding from the Federal government has dried up, the volunteer organizers who bring you these programs are more dependent on the local community to help us pay for Open Streets. Please make a generous tax-exempt donation so you and your neighbors can enjoy being together again on your streets this year.
