Help bring our Mum Home!!

Hi family, friends and supporters.

It is with a heavy heart we write this in the hope of your help.

In 2022 our Mum (Nicky) became unexpectedly ill and went into a coma.

Mum was in hospital for 4

months receiving the incredible care from doctors/nurses that saved her life.

Soon after Mum was now on the long road to recovery building her strength up to talk and walk again with the doctors still not knowing the cause to begin with. This was still under investigation but did get the all clear to fly on what would be her last trip abroad.

Because of this our Mum couldn’t return back to work. She were a dedicated carer for many decades looking after other people within the community and care homes.

Fast forward to 2024 after numerous hospital appointments/doctors appointments, still not finding out what caused her to become so ill but trying to live her life to the full. Trying to regain her strength day to day, Mum as often as she could would see family and friends when feeling well enough to do so. She also visited her Mum as much as possible at her care home, unfortunately who suffers from dementia.

For those who didn’t know, our mum was very much a sun worshiper and was so happy and excited to be going to Barcelona.

So off she went Tuesday 7th may 2024 to Barcelona.

Ringing home everyday checking on family/pets and telling everyone all about her holiday and how nice it was to be away 3 days in she began feeling unwell and was thinking about getting an early flight home.

On Saturday 11th may we all got the devastating news she had passed away in her hotel room without any explanation.

This was the most devastating and unexpected news we could receive as a family!

Our whole life’s had just been turned upside down within a heart beat.

Our Mum, (Nicky) (55) was a loving mother to 8 children, our youngest sister still being dependent on our Mum at the fragile age of 12 years old.

As you can imagine this has had a huge impact on us all as a family in such a short space of time! Nothing could ever have prepared us to lose our Mum like this.

Amongst all the excitement of the last minute trip, Mum unfortunately didn’t have any travel insurance.

So we are here to ask for your help in anyway possible. We are desperately trying to get our Mum back home where she can be laid to rest with her loved ones around her.

Any funds raised will go towards flying her home, paying for the funeral and anything after to our little sister who is still dependent on our mum.

To us she still had many years left to live. She were a loving mother, sister, daughter, grandmother who will forever leave a hole in our hearts. This is why we are desperate to bring her home to lay our Mum to rest, say our final goodbyes and mourn as a family x
