Bring Ramon Chavez Home

Any of us who have had the priviledge to attend the Mexico mission trip have had the pure honor of meeting the most humble, God loving man named Ramon Chavez. Ramon heads up Baja Christian ministries which Rolling Hills church partners with each year. The purpose of these trips is to be the hands and feet of Christ, building homes for 12 families in some of the dirtiest and poorest areas around Tijuana. Over the course of a week, our students and leaders work effortlessly building homes and bonding with the families who will soon occupy these homes. On the last day, students present each family with a key. It's a beautiful, life changing moment. Tears flow from both the giver and the recipients of this key and there is such a feeling of warmth and extreme gratitude during that moment. In the background of each ceremony stands Ramon, with wet cheeks praising Jesus. A man visibly covered with faded ink who carries a colorful past, rich in sin. Sin that he is reminded of daily in the form of the US/Mexican border. This border signifies the chains to his past. As Christians we are wanting to step in and help Ramon break these chains. We want him to have the ability to freely visit his family in Santa Rosa and be reunited with so many that have walked/cried alongside him from Rolling Hills church.
Some of us can relate because we have found ourselves so far off course at some point in life. A course that may have placed us in some of the darkest and deepest of waters. Ramon ultimately found restitution on the shores. The life raft that took him there was powered by God's unfailing love. We are seeking financial help to pay for the attorney who will help reverse the order that bans him from crossing country lines. Ramon has paid the price for his sin, his time card stamped. He's told by Mexican authority's he's free, but the the truth is, he's only partly free. Please see for yourself and watch this testimony in completion. Ramon has no idea why we asked him to share his story but he openly did so and we are excited to support him in his walk. Please pray for him, his continued ministry in Baja and for the opportunity for each of us to help break those chains and allow him to visit home.
Psalm 107:14 He brought them out of the darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bands apart.
