Help Bring Scott, Isla & Ysabella Home to Canada

Hi, my name is Roberta, and I’m reaching out with love and hope to ask for your help in bringing my brother Scott and his two daughters—Isla (8) and Ysabella (6)—home to Canada from the Philippines.

In December 2019, Scott and his partner Liberty flew to the Philippines with their girls to attend a family wedding. Just before leaving, Scott was laid off from work, so they extended their trip, expecting to return shortly. But then COVID hit. Flights were grounded, borders were shut down, and they were stranded—far from home, with limited resources, and no way back.

They made do the best they could. Scott taught English online, and they leaned on family support. But over time, circumstances became more difficult. After separating from Liberty, Scott stayed in the Philippines because leaving would have meant being separated from his daughters. That was never an option for him.

Tragically, last month, Liberty passed away. Scott is now a full-time single parent, caring for two grieving young girls in a country that no longer offers safety, stability, or opportunity.

It’s time to bring them home.

We’re raising $45,000 to cover:

 • Legal and administrative costs 

 • Temporary housing and basic living essentials 

 • Medical coverage, therapy, and support 

 • Emergency cushion for childcare and transition needs 

Scott is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He’s loving, empathetic, and endlessly selfless. He’s been living in survival mode for years—doing everything to keep his daughters safe. Now he needs time to heal, to settle, and to begin again—with his girls by his side, and family around him.
