Hello! My name is Amelia Joyce, and I am the writer and director of short film, Serenity. Serenity is a horror dramedy, set in a supernatural reality with emotional, feel-good energy.

Ethan, a shy misfit, is seeking a place of acceptance. He comes across a peer support meeting for serial killers, and is introduced to all walks of life (and the undead). He listens to their stories as the group opens up to share, and finds an unexpected connection.

This narrative challenges societal norms and explores the murky waters of morality, addiction, and the human psyche. Our aim is to encourage audiences to reflect on their perceptions of guilt and forgiveness, as well as the importance of community support and understanding, even in the darkest circumstances.

This project stars Aaron Staton (Mad Men, Castle Rock), Vivian Bang (Always Be My Maybe, White Rabbit), Kylr Coffman (GLOW, Geo), and Havilah Malone (Barry, Insecure). It is a proof of concept for a feature length version, and/or TV series.

Serenity is made for social commentary horror-lovers, people who like to cry laughing, and for those who want to uplift talented and underrepresented filmmakers.

This film has already been shot! With your support, we can get this project finished. There is a lot we need to do in post production, including editing, sound and color, plus VFX to enhance the storytelling.

We can't wait to share it with those who will resonate with themes around mental health, and feeling a bit lost in today's world.
