Help bring Sören N. To North Shore School of Dance

Hello my name is Sören M. Niewelt and I am a German born dancer and choreographer. I have established my own neoclassical dance company, JSLN Dance Company in Germany in 2012

I was now given the opportunity by Lisa Gold to join her school, NorthShore School of Dance in a suburb of Chicago, IL. as her assistant director. I would love the opportunity to bring and share my experience with students, teachers, dancers and audience alike to open minds, expand horizons and take North Shore School of Dance to the next level. 

Lisa Gold has done an exceptional job with her school since she took it over in 1989. 

I want to help her now to continue with the legacy in this fast paced day to day and ever changing world we live and dance in today.

Myself. I studied at the reknown Hamburg Ballet School under John Neumeier before moving onto complete my studies at the Australian Ballet School under Gailene Stock. 

After graduating I joined the Australian Ballet before moving back to Germany for one season where I joined the Braunschweiger Ballett. 

Following that engagement I joined Ballet Ireland as a soloist before moving on to Brazil.

My classical performance experience included Swanlake, Don Quixote, and Romeo and Juliet, as well as modern works by Nacho Duarte and Alessio Silvestrin, e.o.

In 2012 I founded my own independent dance company in Berlin. Germany which until today produces on project basis.

I had the chance to work with NSSD for their Nutcracker at the end of 2023 and am very much looking forward to the challenges and experiences on this next venture.

Being based in Germany at the moment it is a very big investment on all sides until I am able to start my work with Lisa Gold. Your support is vital for the costs of the Visa and the move from my family and me to the Chicago area.
