Help Bring World Youth Ice Climbers to Ouray

The UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships is coming to the US for the first time!

The Ouray Ice Park in Ouray, Colorado, will host the UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships this February 7-9, 2025. This event features both lead/difficulty and speed competitions for both male and female athletes in the categories of:

U16 Youth B

U18 Youth A

U20 Juniors

The event will take place over 2-3 days in the beautiful Ouray Ice Park. The Ouray Ice Park is the mecca of ice climbing in the US and features over 200 man-made ice/mixed climbs, opportunities for all skill levels, and a 150’ competition wall that towers over the Uncompahgre Gorge. The park sees tens of thousands of visitors each year.

Competition ice climbing is moving towards the Olympics with likely inclusion into the 2030 WOG in Paris, and the 2034 WOG in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hosting this event here in the US is an important step in growing awareness and support for this sport.

Hosting a world-level event such as this has its costs, and while we have sponsorship opportunities available, we are also seeking support from the community. Those who love adventure, the Olympics, and supporting incredible youth, many of whom will be traveling from overseas including Mongolia, this fundraiser is for you! Help us bring these amazing youth athletes to Ouray and make this an unforgettable event.
