HELP BRING YUCA HOME
Donation protected
Yuca came to me while I was volunteering at the Costa Rica Animal Rescue Center. She was walking nearby the pool I was sitting at looking nervous and uncomfortable, but immediately bonded to me.
It took her no time to become completely comfortable around me, although for a while was still quite skittish of other humans and animals (is now a beloved pup and quite affectionate towards all the volunteers who are helping watch after her). She follows me around like a well-trained pup and loves when I pick her up and carry her around. Her favorite place to sleep is curled up in my lap, and after the first day of having her around, I knew I needed to save this poor girl and bring her home with me.
She has bonded to me quite intensely. I feel she would have serious abandonment issues if I left her here. I have had all kinds of animals my entire life and have never seen this kind of attachment; especially so immediately. Being forced to leave her here would be the worst-case scenario for both of us. I have to take her to a shelter that specifically takes care of difficult and stray or injured dogs, until I can take her back to the states with me. This shelter genuinely looks out for the interest of the animals they carry and I am lucky to have found them. They are very supportive of me wanting to bring her home and will give her the rest of her vaccines as well as spay her before departure. She has already gotten her rabies vaccine, exactly 30 days before my departure date, which is the minimum waiting period before crossing country borders after the injection is given.
I am willing to spend all the money I have on bringing this sweet girl home, but unfortunately it is not cheap to import a stray dog into the United States. The donations will go towards her getting the vaccinations she needs before travel, her certifications she needs to be imported (doggie passport), time she needs to spend in the shelter and her plane ticket. This is to get her home safe, happy and healthy- not to pay for food, toys, etc.
If you have any sympathy towards animals in need or have ever had an indescribleable attachment toward a furry friend, please consider donating to this pup in need. Let's bring Yuca home <3
