We are in complete awe of all the support we're getting, this has been really amazing and completely above our expectations!

We have been in contact with several institutions and after some thorough discussions we concluded that given the size of the operation it will be more efficient to put these people on a flight to Portugal - instead of saving ~25 people, we aim to bring ~70 people, almost tripling our impact!

Additionally, we are working with local institutions in Poland to support them on any way possible alleviating the bottleneck of people entering the border.

So, as planned, we will be going to Krakow on Friday the 18th and start putting our plan into practice by meeting with local associations and refuges, support them on arranging all the documentation, booking flights, and going with them to the airports to help them boarding the plane. 

On the other side, we will have a local team in Portugal to collect these refugees at the airport and take them safely to local institutions that are going to provide shelter and support.

100% of the money raised will be going towards the objectives of the fundraising. Again, we will always be fully transparent on where the money you have donated will be spent. 

Also, to be clear, our team will pay for their own flights, meals and accommodation with their own money. 

If you are not comfortable with this change, please contact us and we will naturally refund your contribution.

We are very proud of having achieved almost 100% of our initial request after only ~24h of starting this fundraising! You are amazing :)

Given this, we will increase our funding objective to 15k in order to create an even bigger impact. This will be donated either towards renting another van, finding additional ways of transportation for refugees, or to the International Red Cross

In any case, we will be fully transparent and provide you full disclosure of where the money will be spent

Hello!

We are a group of friends that work together and want to help the Ukrainian people in any way we can. To do this, we decided that we are going to hit the road from Portugal to Poland with 2 main objectives:
- Delivering medicines, clothes and food to refugees that have just left the war zone in Ukraine
- Bringing back as many refugees as possible to shelter houses in Portugal   

As this is is a personal endeavour, with no sponsorship whatsoever until now, we are kindly asking for funds for the following costs:
- Renting 9 seat vans: initial objective of at least 3, but the more the merrier
- Gasoline and Tolls: 7.500km for each van 
- Food for refugees on our way back: 3 meals per person, for at least 18 refugees
- Sleeping costs for refugees on our way back: 1 or 2 overnight stops to rest 
- Any healthcare support needed 

Your help will definitely make a difference! 

Note: We will provide full disclosure on where the money raised will be spent, and if there will be any extra money left we will donate it to a NGO focused on helping Ukrainian refugees (exact one to be decided yet)
