Help Britt Overcome a Brain Injury!

I am Isaac M. Carter, fundraising for my dear friend Britt. I have known Britt for over 20 years and over the years.

On a seemingly ordinary day in 2015, Britt's life took a devastating turn when she fell from a deck lacking a railing, resulting in a traumatic brain injury. Rushed to the emergency room, Britt exhibited immediate concussion symptoms that refused to fade over time, signaling the onset of Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS). This condition affects 30% of individuals who suffer severe concussions, predominantly women.

While Britt is fiercely independent and highly motivated, she now finds herself grappling with profound cognitive impairments, heightened sensitivities, and an inability to carry out daily tasks without assistance. Her dream of serving others as an herbal medicine practitioner, social activist, and philanthropist has been deferred by the challenges of navigating life with a debilitating brain injury.

For almost a decade, Britt has tirelessly sought medical professionals who understand her condition and can provide the specialized treatment she desperately needs. However, these treatments come at a steep cost, leaving her burdened with significant medical debt and unable to access consistent care. To compound matters, Britt also battles Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), conditions that further diminish her physical capabilities and quality of life.

Despite her resilience, Britt's financial resources have been depleted by medical expenses, forcing her into unfavorable living situations and leaving her entirely dependent on the generosity of a small group of friends. With disability benefits elusive due to a significant lack of awareness about POTS across medical specialties and healthcare bills mounting, Britt's situation has become increasingly difficult.
