Help Britt with life saving medical treatment
Donation protected
Our dear sister Britt Rhodes was diagnosed in March 2021 with Stage IV Melanoma (skin cancer) which is an incredibly aggressive type of cancer. Since then she has undergone immunotherapy and then targeted therapy plus doses of radiotherapy with the hope of a cure. Unfortunately the cancer is now spreading and her only hope is to return to the immunotherapy treatment. The NHS has strict rules which state that you cannot go back to this treatment once you’ve already had it. In other countries patients can go back and forth between targeted therapy and immunotherapy but sadly this is not the case in the UK. Our only option to save her life or at least prolong it is to privately fund this treatment at the amazing Christie Hospital in Manchester. Each treatment costs £32,000 which our family has managed to fund two of so far (she needs at least four and then will move onto a maintenance treatment). Britt is doing amazingly well. She is not only our sister, but an incredible mother to her two young girls, wonderful wife to her husband Simon, a loving daughter to her elderly parents and a brilliant friend to many.
Knowing the costs of this treatment and that we are doing everything we can to help Britt, many friends have asked if they can help support her in any way. Apart from your love and prayers, helping with the huge financial cost of this treatment is one way friends can help Britt. Any amount however small will help. We also intend to donate some of the proceeds to Melanoma UK which is fantastic charity that aims to increase awareness of this devastating illness. A big thank you from all of us and especially from Britt xx.
