Memorial Services and Family Loss Support for Dad Reyes

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted community,
As many of you know, our dear friend Brittania Reyes recently faced an immense loss—the passing of her beloved father, Anthony James Reyes, on July 5th at 58 years old. He was a force known to many as Tony or simply “The Dude.” His infectious smile and open-hearted nature touched everyone he met. He was a light in this world, always offering a warm embrace to those around him.

Tony was a true fighter—whether serving as a U.S. Army Sergeant to aid in the demolishing of the Berlin Wall, Bull riding in Texas rodeos, a power lineman, or defending the underdog — he gave it his all. He had a unique ability to bring joy to everyone around him with his infectious laugh. His impact will forever be remembered by the many people whose lives he illuminated, including our LGBTQIA+ community, where he embraced his role as a proud and fun dad figure to many and proudly shared his Father’s Day celebration at the Portland Pride Festival.

Against all odds, Tony defied the expected prognosis of hours to days and was release from ICU to hospice living 93 days longer than doctors anticipated! Remarkably, the last 21 days was without food or water, leaving an unforgettable legacy of strength and tenacity, as he gave every last ounce of life to be with those he loved.

Through it all, his loving daughter Britt was right by his side, ensuring he was never alone and providing basic needs and medical advocacy along which prolonged his life. In addition to the emotional and mental toll of her father’s illness, Britt lost her dream job just a week after her dad’s hospitalization and her unwavering dedication to her father meant missing new work opportunities. Through this challenging period, Brittania’s supportive girlfriend, Brittney, did everything she could to hold things together, allowing Brittania the precious time she needed with her father. The financial strain became overwhelming and they are now recovering from the financial shock while also grieving the loss of her father. Unfortunately, Tony’s passing came without a will or life insurance, leaving his family with the unexpected burden of funeral, travel, and memorial expenses in Southern California.

We are asking for the support of our community during this difficult time. Any donation, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate, we kindly ask that you share this post to help spread the word.

Let’s come together to support Brittania as she navigates through this challenging chapter of her life.

We love you, Tony, and you are now forever in God’s light and love. See you on the other side, Dude! ️
