Help Brittney and baby Landon after devastating fire

Donation protected
Update: 12/6/24 Brittney and Landon are doing a little better…she is struggling with the immensity of the situation, but there has been such incredible support and generosity that she is lifted up by it! The churches, CRO and regular working people have been bringing diapers, formula, clothes and everything you can think of! She and I will meet tonight so we can plan on how to best use funds to get a place, get some childcare, and get back into the workforce…thank you, thank you thank you for the prayers, contributions and the love…keep it coming, we will keep u posted.

My name is Jennie Legendy. Yesterday evening there was a devastating fire at 106 Brian Circle…in that fire my friend Brittney Smith lost her father Randy Smith and everything that she owned. She and her boyfriend Shawn Christenbury, and their 6 month old child Landon escaped the blaze but they could not save her bedridden father who was in his last days of fighting a brain tumor. Unfortunately her boyfriend was charged in setting the fire that killed her father. To say that this mother is devastated does not even describe the pain she feels…she has lost the home she purchased not 6 months ago and all of the baby’s things…her boyfriend is now charged in the crime and her father is gone.

There has been a tremendous outpouring of support in the form of diapers, formula, clothes for the baby, a stroller and a car seat. Churches in the area have reached out to help…the first responders were heroes! But she needs some funds to secure a place for her and the baby, buy clothes and necessities for the immediate future, and be able to deal with starting completely over from this unimaginable tragedy.

I’m asking on behalf of Brittney and Landon that you reach into your heart and help if you can…prayers, gifts of any kind and funds are desperately needed. And hug your loved ones bc our lives can change in an instant! As one mother said to me today “when one mom cries we all cry” Thank you for your gifts and prayers.
