Help Brittany Kick Cancer's A$S!

My amazing best friend Brittany (aka Dog) was recently diagnosed with Mucinous Invasive Ductal Carcinoma—a rare breast cancer that begins in the milk ducts and spreads to its surrounding breast tissue. As of now, Brittany’s prognosis is good. The cancer has only spread just outside of the tumor. It’s not in her chest walls and her lymph nodes look clear. And Todd’s health insurance is a true blessing. But the deductibles and coinsurance payments are expensive and will add up quickly.
Brittany & Todd had been stressed even before this diagnosis. Until mid-June, they had no idea where they were going to be living and which middle school Tyson would be attending this September. Brittany was having trouble finding work, and money was really starting to get tight.
Then things were looking up. Todd found a rent-to-buy house that would keep Tyson in his school district. And Brittany was about to land a permanent marketing gig.
But on July 3rd, Brittany’s mammogram showed a “suspicious mass”. And things changed a bit.
17 days, 4 doctors, 4 biopsies, 2 ultrasounds, 2 x-rays, 1 MRI, 1 ekg, 1 blood test, 1 more mammogram, a night of vomiting and lots of tears later—and Brittany is now preparing for a bilateral mastectomy, scheduled for August 8th. She will then likely need a second surgery in early 2019. Those two surgeries alone will cost them about $13,000 out of pocket.
They are still moving into that rental August 1st. Not the best timing, but Brittany is excited nonetheless. But she had to put that job on hold so that her treatment could start as soon as possible.
For those of you who know Brittany & Todd, you know that they are both all heart and always the first ones to offer to help in any way they can. But I know them well enough to know that they would never ask for help for themselves. So I’m doing it for them.
I ask that instead of the typical thoughts and prayers, you send cash. Even if it’s only a few dollars, please help me help them and consider donating. Every little bit will help relieve Brittany, Todd and Tyson (& Joey ❤️) of the added financial stress that comes along with this life-changing diagnosis.
