Brittany Smith needs Help with a place to live!

Donation protected
My name is Ramona McCallie, I am Brittany Smith's Mother.

Brittany was raped, beaten and almost killed in her own home on January 16, 2018 by a man she bought a puppy from just two days before.

She shot him, in order to save her own life, as well as her brother's, Even with all of her efforts to save him, The man died.

Regardless of Alabama having a Stand Your Ground Law, (self-defense law) She was charged with Murder and incarcerated.
It's been an uphill battle against the State of Alabama ever since.

She fought so hard to prove her innocence and they finally broke her down and scared her, after she lost her Stand Your Ground Hearing. She ended up taking a plea deal.

There's a Documentary out now on Netflix about her case. "State of Alabama vs Brittany Smith." As well as a few very detailed articles in the New Yorker Magazine and Al. Com.

Brittany will be getting out on December 7 and desperately needs to get out of this State and get her probation transferred, or this is NEVER going to end. We need help doing that though.

Brittany can't stay with me in Government Housing because she has a felony. This is going to affect her for the rest of her life.

I can't live here without her. She desperately needs me right now, and I will be there for her whatever it takes.

My plan is to get a used truck ($3000-5,000) and a used camper ($6000-8,000) and park it on a friend of mine's land for now.

I'm sure it's going to take a lot to get her probation transferred to a different State. So we may be stuck here for a while longer.

The route I'm trying to take is a lot cheaper than rent right now. ($750-1200 per month) and then when they do let her transfer her probation, we can just hook up the camper and roll it across the State Line!!
Blessed be the day!!

I've looked into every option I can think of ... We are financially broken as well as mentally, physically and emotionally.

There are so many reasons I can list of WHY we need help... That's the main reason though. Getting our family back together and having a place to live.

I have tried to get loans, trade in my car, and have been doing everything I can, just to make this happen before she gets out on December 7... But nothing is going in my favor.

Brittany has been separated from her children for over a year now. She wants desperately to be reunited with them.

She still suffers from PTSD, anxiety and depression, and still has flashbacks. So she needs therapy. It was promised, but never delivered.

When she gets back on her feet and is stronger, she wants to become an advocate for other women in similar situations. I would like to do that too.

If you can donate a few dollars and help, I appreciate you more than you could ever realize, and I know she will too.

If you're unable to help, I understand that, just send up some prayers for our family and share it!

I will post updates and pictures, so that you can see for yourself how your donations are being put to use.

Thank you so much in Advance!
