Help Brody help his mother
Donation protected
My name is Rick and I posting this on behalf of myself and my son Brody. His mother, Kate, developed Primary Progressive MS after giving birth to him. While developing MS after child birth isn’t uncommon, Kate’s case is severe. Our family has been through a lot in a short 4 year period. In the last 4 years Kate and I lost our fathers, I was released from my job, I developed a blood clot that lead to a pulmonary embolism, and COVID struck the worId. I have taken a new position that allows me to be home during the week and work (3) 12 hour night shifts over the weekend. This is not the ideal life path but it is what works best for our family. Kate works at a school as a para professional but this is proving to become very difficult. Her only motivating force is our son. She cries herself to sleep at night because she feels inadequate as a mother. It’s difficult to witness and I would like nothing more than to take her place. Our only saving grace is our son. He is the rock that holds us together. No matter how bad things can get, he’s always there to put a smile on our faces. The reason I am on here is to try and give my son a chance to see his mother strong and healthy again. We have found a chance for her to regain the ability to feel like a fully functioning mother but unfortunately this sort of procedure costs a significant amount of money. Stem cell therapy is becoming a growing medical field with advances being made everyday. There is a team of doctors in Mexico that have been able to use patients own stem cells to either completely reverse the effects of MS or stop the progression. I am hopeful that this small glimpse into our lives will show how much this procedure means to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. God Bless
