Bronwyn's Story.
Mum was diagnosed with metastatic bowel cancer on 16/5/18, the cancer had also spread to her liver and lungs. Mum suffered from no cancerous symptoms except from an extreme pain in her shoulder, which after further investigation was found to be caused by cancer. This was obviously a big shock to mum and our family as she had never had any serious health issues. She then under went 11 rounds of intravenous chemotherapy which reduced the size of all her tumours. Her treatment was then changed to oral chemo, which she took for about 5 months. Unfortunately her latest scans show tumours in her liver have increased in size and she now has a lesion & fracture in her L5 vertebrae. So she is now back to having intravenous chemo with a different drug hopefully with better results. She is also about to start complimentary treatment at the Chris O'Brien Life House including massage, acupuncture & meditation.
We would love if any of our family and friends could donate, to help mum with complimentary treatments and anything she feels that would make her feel better. We don't want to see mum worrying about money, we want her to be as comfortable and happy as she can be. This disease isn't fair, mum is an amazing woman, I could only hope to be half as good a woman, mother, daughter, wife, sister and friend as her. She didn't deserve to have this happen to her, but we will support her through her battle and we hope you can too, she deserves the best in life.
