Help Brother Carl Overcome Transportation Hurdles

Our names are Hope and Summer. We’ve come together to support Brother Carl.

Over the course of a couple of years, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting Carl and having the opportunity to learn his story and how we all crossed paths. God truly is intentional.

During this time, Carl lost his beloved wife of 55 years, Joyce. Time is a thief, and grief is a beast. I (Summer) first met Carl in a grief group, and in the beginning of the meetups, he was quiet, to himself, and extremely sad. Rightfully so after losing his beloved. As he began speaking up and sharing, you could see through the gray clouds the light that once shined brightly beginning to make its grand entrance into the world. Before you knew it, Carl arrived with a new sense of purpose, love, perspective, and new haircut! Carl has made such an improvement mentally, spiritually, and physically. He owes this to God and his brothers and sisters who shower him with love, support, and prayers.

The reason we are sharing this is because his van is in bad shape. Currently, whenever he comes to a stop, the vehicle will not idle without putting it in neutral and feathering the gas. There is no air conditioner (we live in Florida, you can imagine the heat!) or power steering. He also needs new tires. Unfortunately, his daughter’s vehicle is also on the verge of breaking the tie rods. And there is only the two of them since the passing of his Joyce. He survives on social security and his food stamps. His daughter works as a manager at 7-Eleven.

We are respectfully requesting your support for Brother Carl's Transportation Fund. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. We understand the work may cost more, but we believe if we come together we can create a good start to helping his issue.
