Bruce222 Winter Hope Campaign
“Bringing Warmth, Safety, and Support to Our Community This Winter”

Our Mission
At Bruce222 Whole Community Solutions Resource Center, in partnership with A Solution Group CDC, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we believe in the power of community and the importance of standing together during difficult times. Our center has been a vital lifeline for vulnerable members of our community, offering shelter, support, and resources that bring hope to those in need.

After a successful summer water campaign, where we served over 500 individuals, we now face the challenges of winter—a time when the homeless and those battling addiction are most at risk. That’s why we’re launching the Bruce222 Winter Hope Campaign. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to provide immediate winter relief, including warm clothing, shelter, food, and essential services, as well as investing in Community Health Worker (CHW) training for the long-term benefit of the community.

Why This Campaign Matters
Winter brings harsh realities for those without stable housing or access to life-saving services. As temperatures drop, the risks of frostbite, hypothermia, and illness increase for individuals sleeping outside or living in unsafe conditions. For many, homelessness and addiction go hand in hand, and the cold months can deepen the challenges they face.

Our work this winter is about more than just providing basic needs—it’s about saving lives and helping people find a path toward stability. Your donations will directly impact the lives of individuals struggling to survive the winter, offering them warmth, shelter, food, and access to recovery programs that can provide a fresh start.

Additionally, we believe that empowering the next generation of Community Health Workers (CHWs) is crucial for long-term community health and stability. These young individuals will undergo comprehensive training to become certified by the State of Nevada as CHWs. Once certified, they will play an essential role in connecting with vulnerable populations, ensuring access to healthcare, social services, and mental health support.

Community Health Worker (CHW) Training & Certification
We are allocating $5,000 from this campaign to train and certify 15 young people as Community Health Workers (CHWs). These individuals will receive specialized training in community outreach, health education, and support services, giving them the skills needed to directly address the needs of our community.

This training includes:

Healthcare Access Training: CHWs will learn how to connect individuals to necessary healthcare services, including preventive care, emergency services, and mental health support.

Cultural Competency: Training will focus on understanding the unique challenges faced by the diverse demographics of our community, ensuring that CHWs provide respectful, empathetic care.

Health Education: CHWs will be trained to educate community members on topics such as chronic disease management, addiction recovery, and mental health awareness.

Social and Economic Determinants of Health: CHWs will gain the ability to identify and address social and economic factors that impact health, allowing for a more holistic approach to patient care.

Client and Patient Assessment: CHWs will learn how to properly assess the needs of clients and patients, documenting their condition and connecting them to the right resources.

Crisis Identification: They will be trained to recognize and respond to mental health crises, ensuring that individuals in crisis receive the immediate care and attention they need.
First Aid & CPR: CHWs will be certified to provide CPR and First Aid, giving them the tools to handle emergency situations.

Stop the Bleed: CHWs will also be trained in Stop-the-Bleed techniques, enabling them to provide life-saving care in situations where severe bleeding occurs.

Upon completion of this program, our CHWs will be well-equipped to serve our community, making a significant impact on both individual and community health. These young individuals will not only be helping during this winter season but will also contribute to the long-term well-being of the populations we serve.

How We Will Use Your Donations
$25,000 may not seem like much to support such a large need, but every contribution is vital to keeping our community warm and safe this winter. Here’s how we plan to allocate the funds:

$10,000 – Winter Shelters and Safe Housing:
Providing emergency shelter and safe housing during the cold months. This funding ensures that individuals have a warm place to sleep and a safe environment, especially during the harshest winter nights.

$5,000 – CHW Training and Certification Program:
We will use $5,000 to train and certify 15 young people as Community Health Workers (CHWs), certified by the State of Nevada. These young CHWs will be essential in bridging the gap between the healthcare system and the community, ensuring access to care and support services for those most in need.

$5,000 – Addiction Recovery Programs:
Many of those we serve struggle with addiction. This portion of your donation will go toward providing critical addiction recovery services, including medical support, counseling, and rehabilitation services. These programs are essential for those seeking to break free from addiction and find stability.

$3,000 – Nutritional Support:
Hunger and cold go hand in hand. Our goal is to provide hot meals and non-perishable food items to ensure that those we serve receive the nourishment they need to stay healthy. This funding will help us distribute food packages and organize daily meals throughout the winter.

$2,000 – Winter Clothing and Essentials:
We will use these funds to distribute warm clothing such as coats, hats, gloves, and thermal socks, as well as blankets and sleeping bags. These items are crucial for helping people stay warm, especially those who are still waiting for shelter or sleeping in temporary conditions.

How You Can Help
This winter, the needs are greater than ever, but together, we can make a meaningful impact. Here’s how you can support the Bruce222 Winter Hope Campaign:

All cash donations will go directly to our GoFundMe account at https://gofund.me/80e38f6b. Your financial contribution will provide shelter, food, essential services, and help train new CHWs for our community. Every dollar helps us bring warmth and hope to those who need it most.

Donate Essential Items:
If you have winter clothing, blankets, toiletries, or food items you’d like to donate, these can be dropped off at Bruce222 Whole Community Solutions Resource Center at 222 South Bruce Street, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. Your in-kind contributions are invaluable in helping us support the community.
