Bruner Family Memorial Fund

On behalf of our friends Jed & Leslie Bruner, we are asking for your help! In early January, following months of recurring infections, Jed was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Stage 4, Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma (PTCL). His cancer is confined to his bone marrow making it more difficult to treat. This will be a long road for them as he goes through 6 months of chemotherapy treatments followed by a stem cell transplant, but they remain faithful and hopeful that he will come through this healthy and strong!

Jed is a hard working husband to his wife Leslie, and father to their two wonderful boys Evan (13) & Justin (9). Leslie is a stay at home mom and homeschools their boys. She is self employed part time but is now focusing her time on caring for Jed, their boys and their home.

Chemo is underway and they’re grateful to be able to do it near home however they continue to have to travel to Houston (3 hours from home) to see their MD Anderson team, requiring overnight stays in hotels. If chemo stays on track and he reaches remission, Leslie and Jed will have to travel to Houston this summer for a stem cell transplant. Leslie will be traveling back and forth some from Austin to Houston for the first 3 weeks while Jed is in the hospital. Then they will need to make plans for temporary housing for an additional 2-4 weeks near the hospital. Jed will not be able to work while going through this process and depending on his recovery, may need additional time off as well.

During Jed’s chemotherapy treatments so far, he has been dealing with neutropenic fevers that have resulted in multiple hospitalizations. He’s having to take a considerable amount of time off of work already, every few weeks.

Along with this stressful news comes many financial burdens. Medical bills, prescription costs, travel expenses, temporary housing costs, food, gas, etc. Any assistance that you can give them during this time would be greatly appreciated and will help relieve some of the stress the family is undergoing.
