Thank you for supporting us - Brupeg's got power!
Donation protected
The community asked us to keep the go fund me going! After reaching and surpassing our previous goals, we can now sort out a second-hand replacement engine for Brupeg after our current motor turned out to be too broken to repair, leaving us unable to launch. Unbelievably we surpassed the second goal of a 'new engine.' Enough got donated to include a complete expert rebuild on a donor engine, plus a lot more. We can now get a much-needed replacement hybrid gearbox and a new generator sized correctly to power the boat home using the hybrid gearbox should the main engine ever fail! We can now start saving for the batteries, inverter and panels needed to set up the solar and power storage systems.
Everyone’s generosity has blown us away.
Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and encouragement; we love you!
Check out the community update, which became a moving, exciting and surprising extension of the original campaign. We will be able to donate Brupeg and run projects around the world. 'Built by a global community crewed by volunteers!'

OMG!!! You guys are amazing; within one hour, we have enough support to buy a complete second-hand donor engine and the parts to rebuild her. That is the minimum needed to get us moving. After a poll yesterday, our Patreons have encouraged us to reach for the stars and aim for a new Cummins 855 if we surpass the initial goal of $8,500. If you want to support us in replacing Brupeg's engine with a new motor, we will try to reach that goal. A new engine would mean a completely reliable ready-to-install engine for Brupeg; this would be the ultimate solution as it is the most reliable option and would be just unbelievable for Project Brupeg.
For us, what you guys have done is mind-blowingly generous, and we are both speechless (it's not often Damien doesn't have anything to say!).
THANK YOU!!!, THANK YOU!!!, THANK YOU!!!
Project Brupeg is a community-funded recycled trawler brought by Jess and Damien eight years ago. Brupeg was raised from a shipwreck, recycled and rebuilt into an expedition and research vessel, fuelled and powered by vegetable oil, solar, wind and biodiesel, built by passionate volunteers and crewed by supporters from around the world.
We have boat builders, photographers, videographers, IT specialists, scientists, housekeepers, cooks, artists and engineers coming together to create something unique.
For us, it's not about money; we won’t be paid; it's about the experience, research, creativity and loving what we do!
We learn how to build everything as we go, documenting it on our channel Project Brupeg on YouTube.
We fund it through hard work and the generosity of our Patreons, YouTube supporters and volunteers.
On this Project, our supporters help us make all the decisions by monthly voting at a round table meeting and polls.
We have worked for eight years to launch, and we are now facing one of our biggest challenges yet, and we’ve had a few.
The motor needs to be replaced; the heart of Brupeg!
Help us go-fund-me a new motor or the funds to rebuild and install a secondhand one.
We would love to make this dream a reality, bringing together self-sufficiency, innovation, community and adventure to create a fantastic experience for everyone.
