Help Bryan Unger Recover After a Devastating Hit-and-Run Accident
On the evening of Thursday, February 20, Bryan Unger was on his way home from volunteering at a chili cook-off for work in Belvidere when his life was tragically changed in an instant. While driving on Sandy Hollow Road in Rockford, Bryan was T-boned on the driver's side by a hit-and-run driver, leaving his car completely totaled and his body severely injured.
Bryan was rushed to St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, where he was intubated, given blood and plasma, put on life support, and underwent two surgeries. His injuries include broken ribs, a punctured lung, a broken pelvis, and severe damage to his T12 vertebrae. He will require multiple additional surgeries in the coming weeks and likely months of rehabilitation before he can begin to regain mobility.
Bryan is a dedicated husband, a hardworking employee at Americold, and an active member of Stateline Church. Those who know him describe him as kind, generous, and always willing to help others. Now, he and his wife need our help.
How You Can Help
With Bryan unable to work for the foreseeable future, the financial burden of medical bills, daily living expenses, and the cost of replacing their vehicle is overwhelming. His wife, Jennifer, has been by his side through this ordeal, but they need support from their community to make it through this incredibly difficult time.
We are asking for donations to help cover:
✅ Medical expenses (surgeries, hospital stays, and rehabilitation)
✅ Lost wages as Bryan recovers
✅ Replacing their totaled vehicle
✅ Everyday living expenses (rent, utilities, food, and transportation)
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping Bryan and his wife focus on his healing and recovery without the added stress of financial hardship.
Thank You for Your Support
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help spread the word. We will keep everyone updated on Bryan’s progress, and we are incredibly grateful for the love, prayers, and generosity of those who can help.
Thank you for standing with Bryan during this unimaginable time.
